Cavallino-Treporti: European Open-Air Capital

The project is aimed at the enhancement of the tourist destination of Cavallino-Treporti, specifically at the development and consolidation of the most representative business cluster in the area, united under the tourism promotion consortium “Parco Turistico di Cavallino-Treporti”.

The project stems from a development, promotion, and innovation strategy shared by the stakeholders involved, with the primary goal of promoting new types of products beyond the well-established seaside tourism. These are linked to the “open-air experience,” understood not only through the predominant presence of outdoor accommodation facilities but truly as a lifestyle philosophy that finds its natural expression in all the defining features of the territory.

In fact, Cavallino-Treporti is not just sea and wide beaches; it offers a whole series of local beauties to be discovered and promoted: the lagoon, nature, and numerous activities that can be practiced in the area, such as cycle tourism, walking paths, boating, water sports in general, the open-air museum circuit, historical villages, vegetable gardens, and everything that can provide inspiration to the guest.

For the development of products related to slow & green tourism and to achieve the relative objectives, the project planned specific promo-marketing, reputation, and brand awareness actions. These utilized both traditional tools, such as television commercials, the Sole 24 Ore event, and specialized foreign press, as well as strictly online tools via the website, social networks, the use of innovative platforms, and the involvement of influencers or travel bloggers.

The various actions have made it possible to promote Cavallino-Treporti as a “sustainable destination” from an economic, environmental, and social perspective, also thanks to the emphasis on the locality’s UNESCO brand.

All this has led to significant effects on the entire destination, such as the de-seasonalization of the offer and an increase in tourist flows thanks to new market niches. Furthermore, the project impacts employment growth and the entrepreneurial development of businesses through the efficient use of resources and the sustainable management of natural capital and cultural heritage.
